Ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be,
The old gray mare, she ain't what she used to be,
Many long years ago.
~ Folk Song
I feel like that sometimes! Ha! That song popped into my head the other day as I was getting up from the floor after playing with my grandson. Then of course there's my hair. Since I decided to stop coloring it and now letting it grow a bit longer it turns out to be a silvery sorta blonde. I asked my husband if I should color it and he said "no, what for?" Gotta love him. I have to admit it's rather nice not to buy hair color anymore!
I baked an apple pie and this time I made sure I had enough crust for a decent top. It was really good, I love mine with a slice of cheddar cheese.
The remaining chickens seem to be doing quite well. We now have 10.
I celebrated a birthday this Summer and my wonderful husband bought me this lovely blouse from April Cornell. I added the rose sash (from Paris Rags) because as much as I love April Cornell's clothing, I find it runs pretty big. If I wear this as is, I look like I'm wearing a maternity top.
Now, this I love, love! It's also by April Cornell. A little darker rose than what was on my computer screen, but it will be nice for Autumn. Excuse my unmade bed in the background, I'm washing the bed linen today:)
Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf. Rabindranath Tagore Sorry I haven't been around much lately. We lost three more chickens in the last few weeks. We think due to heat ~ at least that is what the vet said when he did an autopsy on the last chicken (Miss Pittypat). Anyway, everything else here is going well. Our garden is a bit worse for wear ~ too hot and too wet. Oh well, there's always next year.
I put my blog back to the Simple template, I found the other one too hard to navigate:)

As you can see I made a few changes to my blog. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. It's definitely different than any look I've done before. What do you think? Is it hard to load?
Nothing much new going on here. I've been working in the garden, looking after the chickens, keeping house, just regular stuff. Hard to believe it's nearly August. I try to think of it as Summer's farewell. At any rate, I hope you all are enjoying this week. I'll be back in a bit with a few pretties I've picked up while thrifting.
