Dressing for Fun

I'm always tickled when I come across something very "me" at the thrift store. That's what is so fun about thrifting ~ you never know what you may find.
If it's white and lacey and more or less my size there is a very good chance it will end up in my closet!
Yes, I have bought things just for the lace, I usually find something to add it to later.

Love this slip ~ soft, silky and just right peeking out from under this dress.

Ah, it's the weekend. Time for early morning walks with my sweetie and afterward pots of tea along with english muffins and orange marmalade. Not to mention spending time with our little dumplin'...

I thought I'd share the treasures I picked up during our travels. Vintage things that make me smile...

I'm always drawn to delicate teacups, these by Limoges, the saucers don't quite match.

I love having them sit near the window, you can see how fragile they are, which makes them even more dear to me!

Two rosey pitchers ~

and a rooster with pink roses!

Some pretty hankies and such ~

Lovely little dolly ~

I fell for this sweet little picture the moment I saw it. See the little doggie? I thought it looked so much like our sweet Pepper (see sidebar) ~ I knew it belonged in our cottage.

My favorite thing of all this cute little rocking chair. It fits quite nicely in a corner of our bedroom.

I still haven't quite gotten around to visiting blogs. I feel like I'm so behind in everything.

Home Sweet Home

No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow. ~Lin Yutang

Oh, it is so good to be home! We had a wonderful time, especially visiting with our families. Now it's time to settle back into routines, which always take me a day or two.

This is where we stayed in Tennessee ~ The Fox Manor bed and breakast

We stayed in "Mary's Room"

Yes, those are rose petals on the floor and bed! ♥

We had a lovely time!

We also stayed in Gatlinburg and visited Pigeon Forge and saw the Titanic Museum. If you love Titanic history, you will surely enjoy this!

As luck would have it, no photos were allowed to be taken inside the mueseum, which was rather disappointing. Other than that I really enjoyed it ~ especially a few of the costumes Kate Winslet wore for the movie.

Later I hope to share a few treasures I picked up along the way. Tomorrow I'll spend some time visiting ~ I've missed you all!

Until next time...
