Living a simple life in a cottage by the sea.

"Now Nature hangs her mantle green
On every blooming tree,
And spreads her sheets o'daisies white
Out o'er the grassy lea."
-  Robert Burns

Oh my, is it really nearly June?  Life has been good here at Rose Cottage.
Let' see what the month of May was like...

My husband gave me these lovely garden boots for Mother's Day!

We canned lots of potatoes ( bumper crop) and made strawberry jam.
We're constantly working on lowering our food bill.
I made some rosewater wich smells divine. I strained the water and bottled it. Lovely to splash on when the weather turns hot.

I really want to get back in the blogging groove.  I miss reading everyone's posts.  My computer had a meltdown and now many of the keys no longer work.  It takes much longer to type with the onscreen keyboard!
Well, there isn't much new going on, my husband had surgery a few weeks ago and will finally have his knee replacement June 24th.  Our youngest graduated with a degree in music education and will continue his studies at University of South Alabama. Oldest son is studying animation and our daughter is working towards a degree in graphic design.
AND...can you believe our grandson turned 2 today?!
Hope you all have a happy weekend.
