Living a simple life in a cottage by the sea.

This and That

"And since all this loveliness can not be Heaven,
I know in my heart it is June."
~  Abba Woolson

I'd like you to meet my favorite new chick Emma.  We are keeping 9 out of the 27 chicks so now we have a grand total of 14 chickens.
  • Lovely outfit I know, I just returned from my morning walk.

All the baby chicks are getting so big.  I haven't got names for all of them yet.

The bigger girls, Charlotte, Buttercup, Miss Pittypat, Penelope and Lizzy.

Ok, enough chicken talk...

We have a busy week.  My husband has his knee replacement surgery Tuesday.  I'm planning on keeping meals light and simple.  I hope to paint the new chicken coop ( in the same pink as our cottage),  as well as gather some items for  the thrift store.

I've been enjoying these lovely Summer days ( I know it just officially started, but it has felt like summer for awhile now).

Our grandson enjoying his swimming pool in our backyard.

I've been playing with some old hankies, thinking of making a small quilt.
Pretty new lacy top I picked up for a song!
Lovely new lipstick from LancĂ´me called Roses in Love.  After years of using drugstore brands I finally decided to treat myself to the good stuff.  What a difference.  I've always gone for department store lipsticks, mainly because I can try before I buy. What's the use of buying one in a package only to find it turns your lips a funny color, or don't you care for the scent or feel?  I've now upgraded to a nice moisturizer, eye cream and pressed powder, since I don't use foundation or eye makeup.  I'll be 53 in August so I thought it was about time to start caring for my skin!

Hope you all have a lovely week.
