Living a simple life in a cottage by the sea.

Part ll

"Just as a dancer, turning and turning, may fill the dusty light with the soft swirl of her flying skirts, our weeping willow --- now  old and broken , creaking in the breeze --- turns slowly, slowly in the winter sun, sweeping the rusty roof of the barn with the pale blue lacework of her shadow."

My new Christmas blouse from Target.  I think 2015 will be a turning point for me.  I'm thinking of blogging more about fashion in the new year. Did I ever mention I majored in Fashion Merchandising in college?  Not that that makes me an expert by any means.  I just love fashion and dressing up! I do read lots of fashion blogs, mostly those for us gals over 50.  Sometimes I feel like I don't quite measure up because I don't follow the latest trends or try to look sophisticated. I rarely wear black, which seems many my age seem to live in - oh well. I think I'll just blog about feminine clothing ideas and see what happens. Life is constantly changing here at Rose Cottage, and I need to change along with it.  Time to stretch my wings!

Merry Christmas!

"I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."

~ O. Herford

Its hard to believe Christmas is just a few days away. I thought I'd share a few photos from around our cottage.
