Who Knew??

Apparently today is National Pink Flamingo Day!

Who doesn't love a pink bird?

Oops! I was having a bad week and thought I'd lost quite a bit of my blog.  So, I came back to it today and everything seems to be there.  Blogger drives me nuts sometimes, but it's all good.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend!

Sunday Blues

"Every flower of every tomorrow are in the seeds of today"

Our hydrangeas are very unusual this year.  Some are a lovely shade of blue and others mauve and lilac.

Staying Home

“If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.”
~ St. Therese of Lisieux

I don't go out much these days, which suits me fine. The husband and I are a one car family, so if I want to go anywhere I walk or ride my bike.  Really it keeps me out of trouble, because yes, I do love to shop.  The thrift store is a little too far away for me, so I limit my visits to maybe once every two weeks or once a month.  On my last visit I did pick up a lovely pale silvery gray cotton skirt!  I might just wear that tomorrow and take a photo for you to see. Of course being home means I can easily be tempted by online shopping.  My worst offenders are Etsy and The Victorian Trading Co. ( I buy from there rarely, but it's very tempting and I get the "wants").  So lately I've been staying away altogether and just appreciating all the stuff I already have.

Tonight I'm making baked chicken, corn on the cob, green beans from our garden and blackberry crumble with berries I picked this morning.  We've been having quite a crop this year of both
blackberries and blueberries.  I've already squirreled away several bagfuls in the freezer.

Well, I have a few things to attend to before my grandson arrives, so I better get busy!
